SudokuCompanion is a tool that aims to make your sudoku solving efforts much more convenient. It is primarily intended for those of you who like to solve sudokus found in newspapers and magazines.
SudokuComapnion is a Windows software that runs on Windows 7 or higher. You need a mouse, preferably one with a scroll wheel, to get the full benefits from the user interface. For more detailed instructions on how to use it, please review the help file, which of course also can be accessed from within the program.
SudokuCompanion 1.0 is free of charge to use, but some restrictions apply; see the license agreement for details.
Download the installation file to your computer and run the .msi file to start the installation. Since the program is new and has not been downloaded many times, you may get a warning about installing it. DevCompanion assures that the installation package only installs SudokuCompanion and the library files that are necessary to run it. No unwanted software is installed.
SudokuCompanion will download a file from this web server when it is started, to check if there is a newer version available. If you have a firewall turned on, you may get a message that SudokuCompanion tries to connect to the internet. If you want to know when there is a new version available, you must allow SudokuCompanion to connect to the internet, but everything else will work as expected even if you deny access.
When the installation has finished, the program will be available from the “Start” button.
